New Autumn drinks launched!

We have two great new drinks out for Autumn - Blackcurrant & Elderflower and Cottage Garden Lemonade and they are already selling out at markets! Blackcurrant & Elderflower is made with fruits rejected by Ribena (for having too many stalks on them) but they were good enough for our friend Keith, who rescued them and put them through his apples press to make a fantastic black, pulpy juice. We just added elderflower cordial and some fizz to create this rick, dark, sweet/sharp drink. Yum! It's been in the Research And Development stage for quite a while (that is we only got round to making it last month) but finally our long-promised lemon and lavender drink is here! A while ago we found a Victorian lemonade recipe that included lavender and we thought we'd try to re-produce it. We couldn't quite get the formula right but as we'd put it on our promotional literature we had to make it somehow. In the end we added elderflower cordial and called it Cottage Garden Lemonade. Made with real lemon juice, it's zingy, sharp and floral all at once. We've already had quite a few orders for it so it must be pretty good. Not really an autumn drink, we know, but just think how good lemons are for fighting off the' flu. You can buy them our new drinks from us at markets and also online. Just click here to buy online.

Lovely Drinks now are on sale at the River Cottage!

The River Cottage Canteen - Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall's fab new Bath eatery - is now selling two of our drinks! Hugh and his team chose our Red Devil apple juice and our award winning Elderflower & Rose drink to sell at this hip but family-friendly cafe in the city centre. They were looking for some locally produced soft drinks and one of our fellow market traders recommended us (thanks Gary!). Hopefully we'll actually get to meet Hugh himself and Vicky can get his autograph ( for her mum, obviously, not for her). See www.rivercottage.net to find out more about it.

Top Food Journalist endorses Lovely Drinks.

Leading food writer and "Queen of Farmers' Markets" Henrietta Green has invited us to join FoodLovers' Britain - her organisation that works to promote the UK's best locally and ethically sourced food and drink. Henrietta, who founded the famous Borough Market, does loads to support small producers and assesses them not only on quality but also on their use of local ingredients, traceability and ethical standards. We were invited to apply and having tasted our range, Henrietta gave us the thumbs up. She certainly knows her onions - as well as her elderflowers, apples and blackcurrants - so we're delighted to be FoodLovers' Britain approved. For more on what they do go to www.foodloversbritain.com.

More awards for Lovely Drinks!!

Three of our drinks are winners at the 2009 Taste of the West Awards! Our Elderflower & Rose has won Silver while Apple & Ginger and Elderflower & Ginger were both given Bronzes. Entries were from producers all across the South West of England. It's the first time we've entered this one so we're quite pleased - hopefully we'll win a Gold next year.

Apple & Elderflower wins Gold in national award!

Our Apple & Elderflower drink has just won a gold star at the 2009 Great Taste awards! This is a national award run by the UK's Guild of Fine Foods and of nearly 4,900 overall entries, 13% won a gold star. Apparently it's 'the Oscars of the Food World' so we're quite pleased with ourselves, given it's the first contest we've entered. Next year we aim to win two stars!
